One step closer to being a real pirate! - 2010-06-09 09:07:16
Recently I was introduced to geocaching by Jenna. Apparently she has some friends that do it and thought I'd be into it. She was TOTALLY right. As a pirate I've always felt a need to hunt for treasure. Explore & plunder. After all, what kind of pirate would I be if I didn't? For those of you that don't know what it is look up http://www.geocaching.com. It's a game that can be played by anyone that has a GPS device(personally I've been using their iphone app). Think of it as a treasure hunt. You go to the site, look up a geocach, put in the coordinates to your GPS and off you go. When you find it you sign the log and post on the site about your search. Some are easy while some are pretty stealthy hidden when you get to the location. I was really suprised as to how many there were close to me in Dallas.
This got me thinking.. Rut roh, that's never good when Chris has a though, huh? haha. If there were that many in Dallas alone, how many were their across the world & where? I started on my search and found that they are pretty much EVERYWHERE. What does that mean for me? I can hunt treasure all over the world as we travel. I think I want to make this our new goal. Find as many as we can in as many countries as possible.
