One step closer to being a real pirate! - 2010-06-09 09:07:16Recently I was introduced to geocaching by Jenna. Apparently she has some friends that do it and thought I'd be into it. She was TOTALLY right. As a pirate I've always felt a need to hunt for treasure. Explore & plunder. After all, what kind of pirate would I be if I didn't? For those of you that don't know what it is look up http://www.geocaching.com. It's a game that can be played by anyone that has a GPS device(personally I've been using their iphone app). Think of it as a treasure hunt. You go to the site, look up a geocach, put in the coordinates to your GPS and off you go. When you find it you sign the log and post on the site about your search. Some are easy while some are pretty stealthy hidden when you get to the location. I was really suprised as to how many there were close to me in Dallas.
This got me thinking.. Rut roh, that's never good when Chris has a though, huh? haha. If there were that many in Dallas alone, how many were their across the world & where? I started on my search and found that they are pretty much EVERYWHERE. What does that mean for me? I can hunt treasure all over the world as we travel. I think I want to make this our new goal. Find as many as we can in as many countries as possible.
What! Lake Grapevine? - 2010-04-18 20:04:10This morning I woke up early to go look at a boat with Chris and Carsten. So I left with plenty of time to get to the lake; I had a problem though, I was heading to Lake Lewisville. Don't ask me why I went there. As soon as I pulled into Sneaky Pete's (A club where the docks are located), I thought to myself "Why am I here? Chris didn't tell me Lake Lewisville.". I call up Chris and ask "where are we supposed to be?" and I'm forced to fess up that I had driven to the wrong lake. Oh well, 20 min later I arrive at Lake Grapevine and we get to sail a little on the lake.
By the way, we may have a new boat to play with in the near future.
(Cap'n) Crunch Time. - 2010-03-04 13:11:18The insanely incredible "Be A Pirate" music video is nearing completion. I for one am totally and completely excited about it dropping.
That said.. it's crunch time.
Festivals must be pillaged.
We must incite viral hilarity with the video.
WE MUST GET SWARTH-TASTIC COSTUMES!
Also, for anyone in Dallas, TX. Come loaf with the mates at Lee Harvey's on the 6th of March. There will be new gear and plenty o' beer to go around.
